Fall is here! We are right in the thick of new routines, school projects, extracurriculars, and somehow, we're supposed to enjoy pumpkin spice too?
Even in the rush, this season reminds us to slow down and connect. As the air gets cooler, the days get shorter, I feel the sudden urge to spend time being still. These moments allow me to create small pockets of time to reset, laugh, and grow closer as a family.
Try some of these ideas with your fam:
- Family Gratitude Jar: Each night, write down one thing you're grateful for and drop it in the jar. Read them together on Thanksgiving.
- Fall Coloring Night: Grab your Mommy & Me Coloring Book and let the conversation begin. Coloring calms the chaos, trust me, it works.
- Bible Verse Nature Walk: Go outside, collect leaves, and talk about how God changes seasons, like He changes us (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
- Devotions & Cocoa: Fifteen minutes. Biblical stories. One cup of hot cocoa. That's all you need for a mini family devotional.
- "Would You Rather?" by the Fire Pit: Use you Bonding Moments card game and play a few fun rounds while roasting smores.
- Acts of Kindness Week: Challenge your kiddos to do one kind thing for someone else each day and pray over the people you bless.
- Family Bake Night: Bake your favorite dessert, play gospel music, and turn cleanup into a dance party.
- Sunday Afternoon Rest Time: Instead of doing all the things, pick one quiet activity together. Try coloring, puzzles, reading, or even journaling.
- Gratitude Art Project: Let your kiddos paint or watercolor what they're thankful for.
- Faith-Filled Movie Night: Wrap up in blankets and watch a movie together. Discuss what lesson God might want you to take from it.
You don't need a perfect schedule or setup to create connection. All you need is 15 minutes, a little laughter, and the intention to show up for your babies.
