Celebrate National Family Fun Month: 9 Unique and Exciting Activities

Did you know August is National Family Fun Month? It’s the perfect time to make the most of the last days of summer. Whether you are one with nature or prefer to be indoors away from all things bugs, I have 9 unique family activities that you can add to your list:

  1. Family Talent Show: Let them kids know you are more than just their mother. Show off your skills whether it’s singing, dancing, or telling jokes. It’s a great way to celebrate everyone’s talent and laugh together.
  1. Travel Virtually: Pick a country you want to visit and create a virtual travel experience. Learn about the culture, cook a traditional meal, or even try to learn of few words in the local language.
  1. Family Fitness Challenge: Create a challenge with different exercises or activities each day. Track your progress and celebrate milestones together while promoting health and fitness.
  1. Storybook Picnic: Choose your favorite book and base your picnic around it. Create themed snacks and activities that relate to the story. Enjoy a day of relaxation, playing, and snacks. Don’t forget to include Quality Moments Card Game for some fun family competition.
  1. Family Game Olympics: Now that we have all been inspired by the amazing athletes, set up mini-Olympics in your backyard. Make different game stations, such as sack races, relay races, water balloon toss and obstacle courses. Give award medals or fun prizes for each event.
  1. Volunteer Together: Find a local charity or community service project that you can participate in as a family. It’s a great way to spend time together while giving back to your community.
  1. Family Art Show: Set up an art station and let everyone create their own masterpieces. Host a mini art show to showcase everyone’s work. You can even have everyone color their favorite pages from the Mommy and Me Prayer Coloring Book and display them as a part of the art show.
  1. Themed Costume Dinner: Host a themed costume dinner where everyone dresses up in a specific theme like historical figures, favorite movie characters, etc. Enjoy a meal together and take fun photos.
  2. Family Dance Party: Turn up the music and have a spontaneous family dance party right in your living room. Check out our playlist of our favorite gospel dance party songs!

So, pick your favorite activities and get ready for fun, joy and family time. Don't forget to share your fun with us on social media-we'd love to see how you're celebrating!
